The Photographer
Welcome to my world…I am a wife, mother, daughter, friend and of course a photographer. My professional journey began in August 2014 when our second daughter was born, but my personal journey in photography stretches to my youth. Like most moms I just want to stay closer to home and watch every move our little ones make. I am completely blessed with a husband that supports my (our) journey in starting this adventure! Our precious auburn haired, sassy daughter, Lydia Grace (age 8) keeps us on our toes. She has boundless energy that only comes with youth and wants to learn about everything the world has to offer. On the other hand we have this little blonde, Emma Kate (age 6 1/2) she watches every step her big sister makes and is quickly picking up how to be a leader! They are the best of friends and are starting to appreciate mom being behind the camera photographing every move they make!
Photography has always been in my world. I have never known a holiday, special event, soccer game, or “just because time” without a camera being present! In high school I had the opportunity to work with a dear family friend in their photography studio. Having this experience during the time digital wasn't popular and having to print each image to find the perfect one for the client! Technology in this profession has changed so much in what seems just a few short years! It was an amazing experience and I knew at that time my passion for photography was deep. One of the valuable lessons I learned from Chip and Sherri Lloyd was photography was about creating artwork but more importantly it was giving the client the confidence to be in front of the camera. With this you can build a beautiful relationship and capture moments to be treasured!
As an adult I have had the privilege of being mentored by Kansas Pitts…she is a sweet friend, encouraging (kicks my butt when needed) and wonderful teacher! Without Kansas gently pushing me to start this business it would still be just a dream! I am forever grateful!
Photography is more than a "job" for me it is a honor to be chosen to document your life! To be apart of so many lives in such a personal and intimate way brings me joy! Even during a 15 minute mini session I can learn so much about a family and how to capture each personality. The greatest of compliments is when a client becomes a friend and welcomes me into their lives to photograph each chapter of their family! With these relationships it opens doors to assist in business marketing from providing professional headshots, advertisement collateral, along with and managing marketing plans.
My goal in photography is to capture moments that will last forever and bring a smile to your face.
